Taking place alongside the World LNG Summit, the World Renewable Fuels Conference will connect renewable fuels frontrunners with major LNG and natural gas stakeholders, sparking synergies and enabling ambitious solutions in pursuit of a decarbonised energy future. It brings together industry leaders, policymakers, project developers and innovators to discuss the latest challenges and opportunities facing renewable and lower-carbon fuels businesses in the global transition to clean energy, focusing on the critical role these fuels will play in ensuring energy security and achieving net zero goals.
Over two days, panelists will discuss pragmatic strategies for scaling renewable fuels and reducing production costs. They will consider the potential of bioenergy to decarbonise difficult-to-electrify sectors, the future of clean hydrogen in the global energy mix and the importance of carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) as well as innovative financing mechanisms to support the development and deployment of these technologies. Additionally, conference sessions will feature opportunities to repurpose existing infrastructure for renewable fuels and the need for government and industry collaboration to accelerate progress.
Join industry experts from across the globe in a pioneering discussion shaping the future of energy and pinpointing the critical role renewable fuels will play in a sustainable, low carbon future.
Renewable fuels will play an increasingly important role in tomorrow’s energy mix and represent a key solution for accelerating the transition to a carbon neutral world. They will be required to decarbonise national gas grids and the hard-to-electrify market segments to meet the EU 2050 net zero target.
The EU energy mix needs to transition away from fossil fuels in a just, “orderly and equitable manner,” as COP28 recognised. These demands replacing fossil fuels with renewable, sustainable, and circular options. However, this cannot come at the cost of disrupting Europe’s energy supply and its industrial base.
As a synthetic alternative to fossil fuels, renewable fuels can decarbonise the energy mix using existing equipment without needing to incur high capital costs to adapt infrastructure. Investing in modernising LNG and gas infrastructure today not only reduces companies’ carbon footprint and allows the reliable integration of renewables, it also ensures that the energy transition is a just transition that offers well-paid, high quality and highly skilled jobs.
